Bio

Medium Troy is an Oregon based bohemian dub band and production project. Their dynamic set features a large number of influences including dub, electronica, folk, hip-hop, funk, and world music. Described as having the drive of a hip-hop beat, the complex emotional palette of psychedelic rock, fat drum and bass borrowed from the dub-reggae tradition, and intelligent yet playful lyricism.

In 2013 the group started a large concert orchestra called the “Bohemian Dub Orchestra” which mixes classical instruments with modern beats. Their first few shows were a massive success and the group is now collaborating with numerous acts on orchestral shows and recordings.

The band was started in high school by two brothers as a fusion between a live band and a hip-hop bedroom production group. Born in Jerusalem, Israel; brothers Yonaton and Jesse Ferreira formed their first band at age 8 after moving with their family to Eugene, Oregon. Yonaton dropped out of high school at 15 and enrolled in college audio engineering and chemistry courses. That same year he began writing songs and producing 4-track glitch-hop beats under the alias “Medium Troy”. Medium Troy has gone on to sell out most of their local shows in Oregon as well as playing numerous festivals and winning awards including High Times Unsigned Band Contest, Burbank International Film Festival “Best Music Video”, Eugene Weekly “Best Band” and WOW Awards “Best Live Performance”.

Medium Troy has had the honor of playing with The Abyssinians, Tipper, Macklamore, RJD2, Lee Scratch Perry, Barrington Levi, Beats Antique, Anthony B, Richie Spice, Eek-A-Mouse, State Radio, Lil Wayne, Collie Buddz, Sean Kingston, Fat Joe, Love and Light, Stephan Jacobs, EOTO, Mimosa, MartyParty, Lynx, Planet Asia and March Fourth Marching Band.
